  • [livejournal.com profile] onthetrails has an open tech position in Sherman, just North of Anna.

  • [livejournal.com profile] drax0r has been training to be a mixed-martial arts "cage fighter" and I've been promoting an Exhibition Fight in my backyard - so far the response has been positive and we're going to have quite a turnout. I'm going to buy a bunch of folding chairs and we're all going to take turns smacking him with them. Please let me know if you're interested in fighting [livejournal.com profile] drax0r for training purposes, or showing up to watch the scrimmage.

  • For those of you who don't know [livejournal.com profile] drax0r he's like the Nacho Libre of UFC. In that regard, if anyone has a luchador mask or stretchy-pants we can borrow for the fight, please bring them.

Dodge, duck, dip, dive and...dodge!

I'll take my chances as I'll be famous regardless the way the fight turns out.

That and there's no way you're coming to Anna without him kicking your ass. Sounds like a win-win. All of a sudden I think I ought to record this for a YouTube event. Maybe get some sponsorship going.

I'll need at least 50% of the profits along with travel reimbursements.

Not gonna happen. He will, however, kick your ass for free.

I just had my secretary check my schedule. I'm booked that weekend anyway.

That you would fabricate having a secretary is sad. That you have to fabricate having activities is downright soul-wrenching. I pity you.

I really wish you had seen this movie so you would understand this avatar.

And then there's Maude? Sorry for being silly, but it looks like a mean Bea Arthur to me :-O

That was my thought exactly.

Oh, you're not being silly at all. Bea Arthur, mean, never. The comment was directed at Tom because he does not like any other genre than Drama. Sci-Fi and Comedy are below him. He would never watch the BBC version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy for instance, let alone get the humor in it.

The avatar is from one of Mel Brooks masterpieces, History of the World Part I.

Ohhhhh, Brooks' History of the World is classic!

So adore BBC Hitchhiker's, brilliant...in fact my favorite film is a British comedy, the original 1967 "Bedazzled" with Dudley Moore and Peter Cook (swoon!), and the final scene is incredibly prophetic.

Oh, I love the original Bedazzled. Peter Cook makes an awesome devil. Peter Cook and John Glover from Brimstone tie as my favorite actors playing the devil.

Speaking of British comedies, have you ever watched Coupling and Father Ted? Two of my favorites.

It wasn't until today that I knew what your Ba'al avatar was. I just finished that episode.

The actor that plays Ba'al also makes a good devil.

Yeah, Peter Cook is priceless as the devil (aka George Spiggott, lol). Also love the Drimble Wedge and the Vegetation bit -- "you fill me with inertia" :-O I liked that soundtrack so much (pure Dudley) that I bought it on a CD-R from eBay.

I've heard of Coupling and Father Ted, but haven't seen them...may have to check them out!

I HIGHLY recommend them both.

I come from a very Irish Catholic family as I'm willing to bet your husband does, and I didn't think my mom was going to like Father Ted because it is so irreverent, but to my delight she did.

I've never been able to get my wife to watch Coupling (it's sort of a Friends meets Sex in the City but much better than both those shows)with me but as I would watch it in our living room howling with laughter she would start laughing in our bedroom at how much I was laughing.
