  • [livejournal.com profile] onthetrails has an open tech position in Sherman, just North of Anna.

  • [livejournal.com profile] drax0r has been training to be a mixed-martial arts "cage fighter" and I've been promoting an Exhibition Fight in my backyard - so far the response has been positive and we're going to have quite a turnout. I'm going to buy a bunch of folding chairs and we're all going to take turns smacking him with them. Please let me know if you're interested in fighting [livejournal.com profile] drax0r for training purposes, or showing up to watch the scrimmage.

  • For those of you who don't know [livejournal.com profile] drax0r he's like the Nacho Libre of UFC. In that regard, if anyone has a luchador mask or stretchy-pants we can borrow for the fight, please bring them.

Dodge, duck, dip, dive and...dodge!

Where do I RSVP?

The simple solution? Apply for the tech job in Sherman!

You just did. Do you want to take your chances early with a fresh, ready-to-rumble drax0r, or shall I sign you up for a later fight, after he's taken a few hits?
Date/Time: 2009-08-28 17:49 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] schpydurx.livejournal.com
I'll take my chances as I'll be famous regardless the way the fight turns out.
Date/Time: 2009-08-28 17:49 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] schpydurx.livejournal.com
I briefly considered doing this.
Date/Time: 2009-08-28 17:56 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com
That and there's no way you're coming to Anna without him kicking your ass. Sounds like a win-win. All of a sudden I think I ought to record this for a YouTube event. Maybe get some sponsorship going.

I'll need at least 50% of the profits along with travel reimbursements.
Date/Time: 2009-08-28 17:57 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com
Why wouldn't you?
Date/Time: 2009-08-28 17:57 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] schpydurx.livejournal.com
I have not the skill, My Lord.
Date/Time: 2009-08-28 17:58 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com
Not gonna happen. He will, however, kick your ass for free.
Date/Time: 2009-08-28 17:59 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com
Then why would you consider applying, even briefly? Now I'm confused.

I just had my secretary check my schedule. I'm booked that weekend anyway.

I sell myself short. I'm sure that I could do the work, even if I had a bit of homework to do. However, I don't want to move across the country right now, not with the progress that we've made in District 5.
Date/Time: 2009-08-28 18:10 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com
1.) I've flown from Pennsylvania to Washington State to Virginia. That's across the country. Two states over is not.

2.) I don't often make promises to people, as inevitability is a bitch who undresses in front of you then refuses you the goods. However, I can promise you this: This fine nation, nay, not even your state will suffer one iota if you stop whatever it is the hell you're doing with District 5; your inflated self-importance has no bearing on anything. Any reason to wait in place of moving forward will ultimately reveal you to be trudging in mediocrity for the entirety of your days, and that's just sad.

That you would fabricate having a secretary is sad. That you have to fabricate having activities is downright soul-wrenching. I pity you.
