I answered my cell, "This is Eric." And a man on a speakerphone asked, "How are you today, sir?"
There was a pause so I asked, "May I ask who's calling please?"
"This is John McCain."
I thought it was a joke, so I hung up. Seconds afterwards, I thought, That sure sounded a lot like John McCain. Then I felt bad. I mean, his time is valuable and I can't imagine he'd want to chat, but I would've at least given him the courtesy of listening!
