Dude, he might have been desperate! Reaching out to you for some quickly blogged words to whip his confidence into shape because the other candidate is just so much more appealing and far less "creepy grandpa" than he is...
Quite right! You may get called next. He'll want us to collaborate on some McCain/Palin ship/slash "Ask not what your country can do for you" and all that.
He did. That's when I hung up. I didn't believe him. Right afterwards I thought to myself, that sure sounded like him, though. I would've at least been polite.
Ooh you lucky man you. All I get are visits/calls from Obama constituents, not the man himself. Odd that McCain feels he has to lobby in Texas - could it be any more in his pocket? It's not as if popular vote counts.
I'm so glad I voted early, I'm completely justified in cutting off the solicitor speeches with a "already voted, wasting your breath, kthxbai."
My thought exactly - he's already won the Electoral vote. In this case, in voting for him my vote really doesn't count. drax0r and I were discussing our voting strategies yesterday with this in mind.
I get calls from the McCain propaganda machine all the time; I hang up as well. But I only do it because it's from an unintelligent agent (in this case, a machine recording), not the real McCain.
I would love to talk to the real McCain. I have a lot of respect for him, and while I don't know what I'd talk about, it would be a neat experience for me.
I answered my cell, "This is Eric." And a man on a speakerphone asked, "How are you today, sir?"
There was a pause so I asked, "May I ask who's calling please?"
"This is John McCain."
I thought it was a joke, so I hung up. Seconds afterwards, I thought, That sure sounded a lot like John McCain. Then I felt bad. I mean, his time is valuable and I can't imagine he'd want to chat, but I would've at least given him the courtesy of listening!
Yea, just think of what you could accomplish! Unix as the 'national OS', chain gangs for convicted spammers, a crushing death for RIAA, and for the Halloween festival, a dunking booth full of goat piss with Bill Gates and that Balmer creep.

That is so perfect...

He actually identified himself as John McCain - the Presidential candidate?

I'm sure he probably needed your opinion/advice on his campaign.
