The Empirical Manifesto

Let's face it - the ubuntu logo is dull. Given that, and its inexorable link to the use of nudity as a selling point, its no wonder ubuntu wallpapers have pushed the envelope of tasteful images. There are more wallpapers of ubuntu porn than any other distribution of linux out there, and wallpaper is where I've turned in the past to make ubuntu avatars. And while I adore sensuality, I abhor the misuse of porn just because I require use of a linux logo avatar. So using the same recipe above, I made my own.

When I was researching photos for my Succubus post I posted what was the most pornographic photograph on my blog - even as carefully cropped as it was. Scandalous yes, but it suited my purpose at the time. As I was putting my raw images away in archive, I decided to find that model again (for reasons which escape me), and ran across the entire photoshoot on an unsecured server at 4300+ pixels! Though at the time I had no use for such high-resolution photographs, I squirreled them away for a rainy day. That day has come.

I wanted to put up the end-all-be-all xorg post today, until I broke my system again, but didn't want to use my avatar, as I never really liked it, and the cropping weirded out photogoot what with the 'phantom nipple' and all the nonsense which surrounded that supposition. So I set out this evening to create something sensual, without nudity. Sensuality comes from intent, expression, and mood - not nakedness. So while the "other" picture of her met the requirement I needed for that post, sometimes you can convey so much more, by not showing as much.

I'm happy with my new avatar.
