Had a 0830 appointment with my doctor this morning and was thrilled to find that my resting heartrate was down to 68bpm and my blood pressure was down to 120/72. I will be off my meds in three months. He wants to see me in February because "the holidays are hard [where food is concerned]." Well they're not going to be hard for me! And now that the treadmill is up and running, I'll be able to run all winter.

From the doctors to the Post Office, where I mailed packages to nearly everyone on my friends list. If you're reading this, there's probably a package in the mail for you. Except poor [livejournal.com profile] somebritinmass and [livejournal.com profile] dreamkatch - yours haven't shipped out yet, sorry. Dropped off my dry cleaning, and for the first time since I've been in STL, visited the local library where I checked out the following CD's, most of them on fantastic labels, and most of them filling holes in my own collection (for example, I have Brahms Symphony #1 and Haydn Symphonies Nos. 101 & 102..)

  1. Brahms, Symphony No. 2

  2. Brahms, Symphony No. 3

  3. Brahms, Symphony No. 4

  4. Brahms, Ein Deutsches Requiem

  5. Haydn, Symphonies Nos. 96, 97, 98

  6. Haydn, Symphonies Nos. 100, 103

  7. Telemann, String Concertos

  8. Suppe Overtures

  9. Schumann, Piano Concertos

  10. TELARC's The "Ring" Without Words (Wagner)

Then I got home, ordered some new personal business cards, which caused me to update the resume I keep online. This was a tedious thing because not only did I have to author in my entire year here, I had to revisit the entire thing to re-fit on two pages, save it in word format, upload the .doc, save it as HTML, upload that, then vi it to link the .doc on the page. Ok, the really long part of all of that was designing my business cards. This of course somehow led to an Software Update of teh max0r in which I found an incremental update to iTunes which reminded me that I needed Firefox 2.0 for Mac. All of this accomplished it was time to mulch the leaves in the yard since it was 74-degrees here today, and after getting cleaned up it was time to walk to the school to pick up my boy. Back home and I stared working on a new project which is going to require I get a web server up and running - *sigh* On top of all this, I think I'm going to break my fast tomorrow morning, which means nothing but orange juice and water at work all day tomorrow (we're still on for the 16th [livejournal.com profile] galinda822.)

Now it's time for Hot Wheels with the kids, and sleep. What a busy day!

You scored as Commander William Adama. You have risen to your position by being damn good at what you do. Not only that, you have the deepest respect for the people under your command. You may be a little grumpy and unapproachable, but every commander needs to distance himself. Shame that you apply that to your children too.

You scored as PSG-1. You are one of the Best Sniper Rifles in the world. Made by H&K Germany, this selective-fire Sniper Rifle is used by Special Forces and the German Army. A Bull Barrel is already installed when it is sold. It is the most accurate selective-fire Sniper Rifle next to the M21 and tyhe M82 .50 Caliber Sniper Rifle made by Barrett. The PSG-1 is a legend and will be used for a while longer.

wow! with all those new CDs, I wonder when a late adopter like you will have time to listen to the score that his buddy uploaded to his server especially considering the last time this happened you were very impressed with the results indeed.

How is it that it is only you and I commenting back and forth on this entry?

I meant to tell you that I found a prize catch yesterday. I was out looking for a job and found a shopping center I'd never seen before. In it, there was a cigar shop. Naturally, I had to poke my head in.

After a long time shooting the breeze with the owner, he finally coerced me into buying two Rocky Patle Vintage 1990 cigars. Let me tell you, they smell great. I'm just waiting for the right time to smoke them.

Oh! Another thought. If you buy a box or more, he will hold your entire stash there at the store free of charge if you don't have a humidor. I know you do a lot of on-line business when it comes to cigars, but what is your expirence with dealers who do this? Do you find this a rare service?

Posts close to the weekend and/or generally boring posts don't get a lot of comments.

Most cigar shop owners are wonderful, wonderful people. You take care of them, they'll take care of you. Remind me to tell you about Old Town Cigars sometime.

I've had the Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 (box pressed). It was fantastic.

This is me reminding you to tell me about Old Town Cigars. That wouldn't happen to be the Old Town from Sin City, would it?

If this entry is so boring, how is it that we have 17 comments on it already?
Date/Time: 2006-11-11 12:55 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com
This is an easy one: Because we're boring!

why do we have such an intererest in boring material?

You're actually both pretty entertaining.

In this context anyway. :~)
