A couple of months ago, after the weather turned cooler, I began exercising again in earnest. Was working my way up to biking when the troubles began at work, resulting in five weeks of days, nights, weekends, and overnights. When you're working those types of hours, maintaining any sleep/exercise/eating habits absolutely suffer as they're all tied into each other in a frustratingly symbiotic way.

But wrestle that beast to the ground we did, and today was the first day back on my bike since June.

It was empowering.

I agree! It is hard to exercise when your life if in chaos. A couple of months ago I googled "how do you find time for exercise when you're working and studying full time". The results were helpful - I mainly landed on body building sites but they said you schedule in exercise first and the rest slots in. It's still not working well for me - work and studies must come first - but it's happening from time to time as opposed to never so that is good.

I know that's the case, but 70 weeks always seem to throw me off. Glad you got some tips!!

Yes, I can relate to "The Troubles" too. I also was back to walking 30 minutes 5 days a week, yoga, going to the gym. It lasted 8 weeks. Then my foot was causing pain. Dr. figured that out with an orthotic. Starting back to exercise again when my back went out. Trips to the physical therapist really helped. So I'm now in the same boat you are. Time to start again. Good luck!

A beginning is a very delicate time!

It is incredible just how much of getting anything accomplished relies on a set routine - one thing following another in a known fashion makes success assured. And an absolute necessity when we aspire to eat well and exercise. However, it takes far less than what you are describing to knock such a well-oiled machine asunder. Crazy!

Yay for the return of routine!
