I'm 36 today. For my birthday, I built myself a FreeBSD box from my old gaming box. Installed Big Sister, but that turned out to be a huge pain in the ass, so I compiled Big Brother instead. The devil you know.... I stared at the Big Sister config page for an hour. I got Big Brother up and running in 4 minutes flat, including compile time. http://paris.darkvoyager.com/bb it's even got xirr on it, but Tony didn't want the client running. Stayed indoors all day listening to music and drinking Gin & Tonic. It's nearly 1700 and I'm thinking about sleeping. The wireless internet here has been stable all weekend. The manager ordered some newer WAP's for the closet which serves this hallway. I'm guessing that will also upgrade their 'g' from 54 to 108Mbps. It matters not to me, all my boxes are running off one of Tony's old 100/base hubs. And yes, there are collisions. I packed my switch away somewhere else I'd be using that.

I've heard of SecureBSD. This is my idea of SecureDARWIN:

So I got Big Sister to come up anyway. Sorta. Anyone who clicks the link above, depending on where I am in the project, will either get one page or the other. This ain't an exact science here people. I'm getting very sleepy...

Rod was at work all weekend working on his servers. Poor bastard.

Happy Birtday.

Oh yeah, btw, if that is secure as Darwin gets, I don't ever want to see it run on any of my boxes. Some stupid GeorgeheadinassLucas action figure? I think not.

I hates Star Wars. I hates it, I hate.

Besides, to date you haven't been able to provide any first hand experience as to why you hate Star Wars. You moan a lot, that's about it.

I hate it because the last three (Ep. 1,2,3) were bad filmmaking from a technical perspective, yet everyone poured out money orgasmically to go see it...I mean, who cares about waving pretty colored sticks. It just doesn't ring true. So Geeeoooorg gotz himself a whole bunch of computers and hires kidz with mohawks, tats, and piercings everywhere to draw pretty pictures. THAT'S NOT ART!!! Why in the hell people would go honor his, "Well, that's good enough, I think i"ll throw that in" bullshit, I have not a clue, but it's repulsive to me.

Maybe I'm just a realist and like movies that are more down to earth (pardon the pun). It still galls me every time I think about it. That's why I don't like it. People like me who try so hard to do things right, to see to it that things are perfect, we get buffeted and criticized like there's no tomorrow. But Geeoorg? He gets an orgasmic pass from everyone. There's no checks and balances. There's no, "that's good, but we can see the wires. He's obviously not flying."

Do you know understand my gripe?

Some people smear their own excrement on canvas and call it art. I do not subscribe to that point of view, nor yours. Like it or not Lucas has singlehandedly changed the entire world. Deal with it.

while I can see both points of view - let it be said that simply being a large grossing movie with tons of cgi, very little TRUE acting - this doesn't a "great" movie make; yet to truly make the argument one must suggest a movie that it can be compared to - thus I say - "Kalifornia" - a VERY good movie - or "Heat" - or anything Cameron Crowe directed - So if you say "dude, geeoorge (learn to spell, punky!)sucks!" then at least put up a better one. anyone find a sex toy around here? - long, studded, & hooked to a car battery - if so call 402-555-2307 - there's a reward if, if it still works. PAY ATTENTION: No one said it was a great movie. I said it changed the world. This is thus far unchallenged.
