NO SPOILERS!

Watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Friday. Bought the book at midnight and have been reading it, slowly. Three books ago, I read the entire thing in a day, and then became pissed off and morose since I didn't have any new Harry Potter to read, so I read it again. Two books ago, I read every chapter twice - to force myself to take my time. That lasted about a quarter of the book. I finished the last three-quarters in a day reading it straight through. Last book - well, I was moving (again) so it was pretty much split-up and took me a week. This time, however, I want to blow through it, but life, it seems, has gotten in the way. I'm lucky to read 4-chapters, every other day. To assist me with this, however, I've burned every album onto a single mp3 disc which I listen to in the car, followed by all the albums back-to-back which I listen to on my iPod at work. I'm finding some real gems in there!

In other news, I've recently acquired another Rave System and am pimping it out with half a gig more RAM & a DVD-ROM drive to put Solaris 10 on it, I'm upgrading the 300Mhz/1280MB U30 at work with a U10 I'm filling with Rave System parts (a 440Mhz chip, two 60GB drives, a DVD-ROM & 2GB of RAM and possibly more importantly, a Raptor framebuffer to get the graphics off the CPU), and am thinking of restarting the Ampache project on the ubuntu-server box to see if I can glean anything at all from it. 13-hours at work today which is fine since my wife and kids went to Wichita to spend some time with her mother prior to school starting. I'm knee-deep in work, but work is such a joy! I can hardly contain myself.

Simply put, a Senators job is to acquiesce to the will of his constituency. Interesting point you bring up, because that's exactly what citizens should do.

Though I don't find it applicable to this argument.

What exactly should citizens do? Be silent on the issue because they are not senators?

I am quickly loosing respect for you.

O.M.G! No sir, they should not 'be silent on the issues.' Please stop anticipating my answers.

Your example was not applicable to this argument because citizens do have the justification to comment how a Senator should do his job without having been Senators themselves, because that's who a Senator gets his direction from! His constituency!

Jesus H. Christ!

Please keep a constant position.

My position is constant sir, and has been for some years. Please don't cite a mixture of my comment not being *crystal* clear and your misunderstanding of it as wavering.

In fact, to help with these types of things in the future, prior to questioning my stance on a position, ask yourself the following, which no doubt clear everything up instantly:

"Why the FUCK would Eric suddenly change his position?"

The answer of course, is that I wouldn't, ergo, there's been a misunderstanding. In the future, please simply ask me to clarify. Thank you.

No, you have not kept a consistant position. You argue that one should not comment on matters where they have no expirence and then in the same breath turn right around and claim that citizens who have never been senators should be allowed to tell senators how to do their job. The citizens have no expirence yet you give them a pass to comment. Please, pick a position and stick to it.

No, you have not kept a consistant position.
I'm sorry the nuances of life pass you by.

You argue that one should not comment on matters where they have no expirence and then in the same breath turn right around and claim that citizens who have never been senators should be allowed to tell senators how to do their job.
I've already explained this to you once, and since you still don't understand, I can only assume you don't know what the word 'constituency' means or how it works. Brush up instead of foolishly braying like an ass. Read, understand, respond. That's the best order in which to do things.

The citizens have no expirence yet you give them a pass to comment.
You have two jobs.

One of those jobs is to deliver pizza. No one's going to ask you to troubleshoot their computer when you arrive at their house.

Your other job is Help Desk. People call you for assistance in troubleshooting their computer. No one is going to call you and ask for a pizza.

Do you understand that?

I've already explained this to you once, and since you still don't understand...
You took the words right out of my mouth! You fail to see that:

•You say that people shouldn't comment on issues until they have experienced them first hand.

•I then present a counter-example of citizens and senators.

•You do not keep to your stated position. Instead, you say that citizens can tell senators how to do their job even though they have NO experience.

•I call you out on this.

•You then state that by nature citizens are supposed to comment and dictate how a senator should do his job, thus violating your previous claim that one should not comment or dictate unless he or she has prior experience.

•We argue this point relentlessly.

•I finally have to write a goddamned bullet point comment so you will gain understanding.

•At this point, I predict that most likely you will feigning enlightenment thus terminating this thread.

Read, understand, respond. That's the best order in which to do things.
Practice what you preach. You have problems with the "understand" phase.

One of those jobs is to deliver pizza.
WRONG! I deliver steak.

So doctors should never operate until they've been operated on? Is that right? You can't make the distinction between different career paths ergo the statement I make is a blanket statement and unwavering?

Either you really are an idiot, or you're just arguing for the sake of arguing.

I wish I knew which.

So doctors should never operate until they've been operated on?
According to your logic, yes.

You can't make the distinction between different career paths
I can and this is irrelevant to the argument.

the statement I make is a blanket statement and unwavering?
Correct sir. You made an assertion; namely, one should not voice an opinion on a matter without having experienced that matter firsthand. Therefore, this logic should applied universally if you are to hold a constant position and have relevance to this discussion. Otherwise, you invalidate any and all positions you have taken in this debate.

Understood. You really are an idiot.

You're right. I really am an idiot for thinking that you'd stick to one position.
