Harry Potter the Musical!

Watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Friday. Bought the book at midnight and have been reading it, slowly. Three books ago, I read the entire thing in a day, and then became pissed off and morose since I didn't have any new Harry Potter to read, so I read it again. Two books ago, I read every chapter twice - to force myself to take my time. That lasted about a quarter of the book. I finished the last three-quarters in a day reading it straight through. Last book - well, I was moving (again) so it was pretty much split-up and took me a week. This time, however, I want to blow through it, but life, it seems, has gotten in the way. I'm lucky to read 4-chapters, every other day. To assist me with this, however, I've burned every album onto a single mp3 disc which I listen to in the car, followed by all the albums back-to-back which I listen to on my iPod at work. I'm finding some real gems in there!



In other news, I've recently acquired another Rave System and am pimping it out with half a gig more RAM & a DVD-ROM drive to put Solaris 10 on it, I'm upgrading the 300Mhz/1280MB U30 at work with a U10 I'm filling with Rave System parts (a 440Mhz chip, two 60GB drives, a DVD-ROM & 2GB of RAM and possibly more importantly, a Raptor framebuffer to get the graphics off the CPU), and am thinking of restarting the Ampache project on the ubuntu-server box to see if I can glean anything at all from it. 13-hours at work today which is fine since my wife and kids went to Wichita to spend some time with her mother prior to school starting. I'm knee-deep in work, but work is such a joy! I can hardly contain myself.

Harry Potter is not retarded! I must admit the reading level is lower than most fantasy, but still a fun read. I'm confused, you watched Harry Potter, but gave now critique? I really enjoyed the movie. They did an excellent job pulling out of the book only the critical parts to the overall story. I never felt like the movie was dragging on! Book 5 was the hardest to get into for me, but after the first 150 pages, when Harry actually makes it to Hogwarts, the book becomes a fast read. I'm still confused, you bought "the book" at midnight? The Deathly Hallows? Order of the Phoenix? I purchased the Deathly Hallows at midnight when it came out. I finished in a day and a half. Dang responsibilities kept getting in the way so I couldn't finish in one day. Excellent read. I'll not give any spoilers since it has only been a week, but I may have a new favorite over Goblet of Fire (Still undecided. Need to read them both again). I plan on re-reading the whole serious come September. Looking forward to seeing how it fits together knowing the outcome. Retarded people don't like Harry Potter!

Yes, I purchased Deathly Hallows at midnight of the same day I saw Order of the Phoenix. I think, when I finished this, the last book, I'll finally re-read them all again as well. I suppose that OOTP was my least favorite movie thus far, though I did enjoy aspects of the film, but the score is hands down better than Patrick Doyle's previous film. Thanks you sir for the email. I haven't had a chance to listen to the movie score yet. Goblet of Fire is still my favorite movie in the series. I can't wait till 2010 for Deathly Hallows to come out though. It is so hard not to provide spoilers..., but those who thought the wizard battle in Order of the Phoenix was good are in for a treat come Deathly Hallows in 2010. I had never read a book that fast in my life. I did not want it ruined by finding out what happened from somebody else. I must admit, I did not know what to do with myself once I was done. Odd feeling.

What makes you think I'm swept away with E's moderation. I happen to differ with him on many things, but I respect his comments because they are well thought out. Answering your yes/no question either way without qualifying the reason or exceptions would have been insufficient, because you would have applied your own qualifications to the answer. Often I do not comment because I am in no position to comment. "Those who make the least noise are often considered wise."

However, I have both scene all the HP movies, and read all the HP books, along with many other comparable sources of fantasy fiction. Harry Potter is not retarded. In fact in the last book, he in quite intelligent figuring everything out in the end.
