So long farewell, auf weidersehen good-bye...

The U-HAUL Sport Trailer is loaded. It was roomier than I anticipated. Not only did I get everything in which was earmarked to go, I got a lot of other stuff packed as well, including my daughter's bicycle and scooter. LOTS of room in that little trailer. I roll out in the morning.

Oh she move like the Diva do
I said "I'd love to dance like you."
She said "just take off my red shoes
Put them on and your dream'll come true
With no words, with no song
You can dance the dream with your body on
And this curve, is your smile
And this cross, is your heart
And this line, is your path...

That is a sweet rig my friend. I love it. I sat in an FJ today, I have the itch. But alas I will be strong.

Have safe travels...

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
We gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch ol' "Bandit" run.

Keep your eyes open for those Kojack's with a Kodak while you got the hammer down!

So I've read the reviews. Tell me, in your own words, about the FJ if you would please.

First unfortunately I did not drive it, just sat in it. Two things struck me right away. 1. A bit hard to get into without dragging your suit pants up the underside as you get in. 2. Seat may be hard to position for a tall person on a long drive. The cool factor is hard to beat though. You of all people know I am a truck guy at heart. That thing is all truck. It’s very wide and feels very big from the driver’s seat. It is utilitarian inside but with nice surface textures and classic styling, it is a very well done interior. It’s going to be a temptation for some time, but again I will be strong. Maybe the next model version will have the necessary refinements to push me over the top. One other thing though the gas mileage sucks! So I also would want to make another work jump closer to home before considering n FJ. I really don't want a $120 a week gasoline bill anytime soon... scratch that.. ever! They sure are nice to look at, particularly the front end. I did fantasize about my black weather proof photogoot gear bags and containers cargo netted into the back as I set off for roads less traveled an a photo adventure.... *sigh*...

I vote for waiting until the next model revision. Sounds nice though. Sounds...adventurous!

Well, it certainly is a cute little thing isn't it?!
Glad you were able to get everything loaded into it. More room inside the car for the more precious cargo.

I miss you already!

Let's just hope that little thing can keep up with me on the open road.

Already? I'm still here! Come and see me one last time!

Come and see me one last time!

That sounds so final to me!!!

Hopefully it'll only be a year at most.

Just a thought as you are departing and you put this in your rear view mirror...

There were an awful lot of good times in that city. I'll not soon forget the few I had with you there.

Its not good by, its until next time St. Louis.

Don't be dismayed by good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.

See you again friend...

How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

I really like that Richard Bach quote. I have found it to be true and thought those who would miss him in St. Louis might like it. I guess I should have know better. As much as I like Richard Bach he is also the person credited with one of the worst over used quotes ever. You know the one. "If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they're yours; if they don't they never were."

Here is a slightly better version....

If You Love Something Set It Free
If It Comes Back, It Was And Always Will Be Yours.

If It Never Returns,
It Was Never Yours To Begin With.

If It Just Sits In Your Living Room
Messes Up Your Stuff,
Eats Your Food,
Uses Your Telephone,
Takes Your Money, And
Never Appears That
You Actually Set It Free In
The First Place
You Either Married It
Or Gave It Birth!

Why should you have known better?
I thought the quote was lovely.

I focused on the part of your reply which said it "makes saying goodbye so hard." and associated that the quote in my comment. I am glad you found it lovely after all, that was my hope. :-)

ps: The first quote to clarify! :)

I was with you on this point. ;-)

That is one fancy trailer.

I want to buy one. They're sooooooo awesome.

I must admit, life would be better with one. I could go camping [with my car, Jack] any time I pleased! Or, I could move to Mexico! [Canada's much too close.]
Date/Time: 2007-05-06 04:27 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com
I'm much closer to Mexico than you are, and I still think Canada's much too close!
Date/Time: 2007-05-06 04:39 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] oxy-irony.livejournal.com
Well, my point was that I would get to drive there (a long ways), and then some. Plus Mexico's warm; Canada's cold. Add that to the list of pros. Cons? Well, simply put, cons.
