I don't want to watch live television from my cell phone.
I don't want to play games on my mp3 player.
I don't want to download songs on my blackberry.
I don't want to take pictures with any of the above devices.
I like wearing a watch.
I guess I'm just old fashioned.

When
*sigh*
I looked at them as if they were retarded and often explained that we had exactly as many remotes as we needed. We didn't have extra remotes laying around unused. Each remote served a different and unique purpose.
Often I feel I'm alone in this world.

therefore I believe you meant OTP One True Pairing -- usually used to denote a fanatical devotion to one pairing in a fandom, excluding all others; a fandom abbreviation referring to one's favorite fictional couple.
I wish I were more hip to the slang... I always seem to need to look these things up.

If you want to go back and visit your "knobs" and "doohickey" discussion, you'll be going alone. That being said, nine remotes to control a single device is indeed having TOO MANY!
As a person who also hates multi-function devices I agree that turning 9 unrelated devices into one is stupid, but it is only HALF as stupid as splitting one device into multiple devices.
Anyone who has lived through the following can testify to that.
Often I feel I'm alone in this world.
And we often feel as if it's a shame that you aren't! Like say when you forget to use an LJ-Cut on a 70,000 word post for instance. *rolls eyes*
