A picture is worth a thousand words is a familiar proverb that refers to the idea that complex stories can be told with just a single still image, or that an image may be more influential than a substantial amount of text. It also aptly characterizes the goals of information visualization where large amounts of data must be absorbed quickly.

It is often referred to as a Chinese proverb, but it is believed that the phrase was actually coined by Fred R. Barnard in the advertising trade journal, Printers' Ink, promoting the use of images in advertisements that appeared on the sides of streetcars. The December 8, 1921 issue carries an ad entitled, "One Look is Worth A Thousand Words."

Another ad by Barnard appears in the March 10, 1927 issue with the phrase "One Picture is Worth Ten Thousand Words," where it is labelled a Chinese proverb. The Home Book of Proverbs, Maxims, and Familiar Phrases quotes Barnard as saying he called it "a Chinese proverb, so that people would take it seriously." Soon after, the proverb would become popularly attributed to Confucius.

He enjoys that type of thing also.

Threatening to tie women up to beat them, proving that he truely is an egotistical bastard in hiding who actually enjoys partner abuse.

However, he seems to think that since I dont get into the Dom/Sub role playing that its because of this that I dont understand, where-as instead of my not understanding... it's really my not wishing to put myself into that posission with him.

I have allowed him to believe I am one person when I am not. It's better that way because if I change my image now it will only confuse the poor boy.

Perhaps one day, however with this girl he's so excited about... it's not really an issue aside from when he calls me at like 3am to tell me to get up out of bed cuz its an emergency...

Eh. Assuming your not being sarcastic...

I try to be a good friend to all of my friends.

Which may be why I've been nice to him for such a long time.

Lost my temper with him many times, but didnt say anything. Thats what a punching bag and my gloves are for. ;-) And... if that doesnt help a good run helps to.

And you'd think for all this anger management I'm doing... I'd be in better shape. Nope... I think my body gets immune to excersize or somthing... the more I do the worst I feel.
