Tangerine

The children picked the color for the kitchen: Tangerine. This was, by far, the most problematic room in the house to paint - lots of cut in angles. Also, I painted behind the refrigerator. How many have I moved in the past to see as big refrigerator-sized unpainted hole behind it? I finished it up in late March during the Winter Storm Q. The refrigerator was a gift from suzanne1945. Well, at less than a year old and 1/2 price I consider it a gift. The interior lights just burned out, and when the replacements didn't do anything I typed the model number in Google. First hit was from a Sears's repairman who listed exactly what was wrong with it (the switch), and a link to the part number. $8 part, $8 shipping. I couldn't believe my luck.

When I tell people I have tangerine kitchen, they usually reply, "Seriously?" So now I can point them here!

I love the boldness of the tangerine. Not to mention that it looks great with the aforementioned black fridge, and provides a great backdrop for the series of pictures you have hanging on the wall above it.

I think it's lovely. I think it would look even better if the cabinets (and the door) were white. And a subway tile bask splash would look great as well.

Here's the thing - you have no idea how much I agree with you. Let me try to impart the importance of your statement: Of the four houses I have owned, the most beautiful were in Texas. Both the houses in Texas had WHITE TRIM and WHITE 6-PANEL DOORS THROUGHOUT. Sometimes I cannot sleep at night because this house does not. Those honey-colored, plain doors and that horrific trim is all through the house. I've threatened to have someone come in and replace all the door and paint all the trim (also, no crown molding in Kansas?)

Someday. Mark my words, SOMEDAY!
