"Good job! And what does 'B' sound like?"
"Buh."
"Excellent! Now, the other two letters sound like, 'AAARRR' so what is the word?"
"Truck."
"Ok, no. 'Buh-AAARRR'."
"Truck."
"Not quite. The word is 'bar.'"
"Bar."
"Perfect. Now, if that word is 'bar' what's the word below it?"
"Truck."
"No, what letter is at the beginning of the word?"
"C."
"Great! And what sound does 'C' make?"
"Cuh."
"Fantastic! Now, knowing the the word above is 'BUH-AAARRR' what would this word be?"
"Truck."
"Ok, no. Don't say truck again. Ever. What sound does 'C' make?"
"Cuh."
"Excellent. And if B.A.R is bar, then C.A.R is what?"
"Truck."

*sigh*

Truck-aarr would be my kids response.

Ok so this one is not related to reading but, our youngest is pronouncing Milk as "boat"(Don't know where it comes from). So we try to work on the different parts. Say Mmmm, he says mmmm. Say ill, he says ill. Say k, he says k. We do it again faster say mmm ill k, he says mmm ill k. Say Milk, "boat".
