Luck Be A Lady, Tonight!

So I'm whistling "Luck Be a Lady" from Guys & Dolls in the office, driving everyone nuts. The door opens, I stop. A VP walks in and approaches one of the guys to ask a Blackberry question. He sees the score to last night's Cardinal's vs. Houston game and asks, "Contacting your bookie?" I perk up. As he's leaving, I finish the song. He stops. "Luck Be A Lady! Anyone else catch that?"

I so love gin & dry vermouth in tonic...AND I DON'T KNOW WHY!

So, we're not allowed to wear any denimn items. I wore a denim shirt once, with a tie, under my jacket. Word spread like wildfire. Were I still a surly sysadmin, I would wear a denim tie just to mix it up a bit. We're not allowed to wear work clothes even when moving computers. So, there I was in coat, tie, and slacks moving a 22" monitor onto a cart, when the large, metal base it was sitting on became unstuck and damaged my toe. Ouch. I'm going to try and find some steel-toed loafers. Do they even make such a thing???

Watching "A Life Less Ordinary." It's fantastic so far, but I'm only 24 minutes into it. I expect good things.

After two days, successfully compiled rot13 and elinks on my Solaris server. --disable-nls was the kicker.

Gin - ew. Good for you, I guess someone should be out there to consume the stuff. Too bad they'll make more.

"A Life Less Ordinary" is a great movie, but it's been too long since I've seen it.

Hmm, never thought of it that way. And yeah, you'd likely have to not use a plugin to translate it, as I'm sure I don't use a standardized form, having never learned one.

Once l33t speak becomes 'standarized' it will no longer be effective and subejct to the very filtering it was meant to bypass.

I'm thrilled that Tony was able to decipher this without his plugin's l33t decode function. My plugin, however, does not come with that very fundamental tool. Why Me? Tony get's a plugin decoder, and I do not. How fscking helpful is that?

Well that aside, Tony is also the one who first introduced me to l33t 5p34k and what I just typed is the beginning, middle, and end of what I know about it, other than the culture in which it was produced, and I'm proud to say that generally does not include those in my generation.

Nonetheless, I will attempt to decipher this myself, hopefully competent enough to not conclude that it involves suggestions of my inserting objects into my own anal cavity.

Ok. Wow. Got it. At first I thought you were telling Tony to be a lover, not a fighter. I figured that word was wrong, you wanted him to be lever! WTF? Anyway - not translated sans some magical decode power Tony thinks his plugin has, but it was certainly not elegant or functional doing it manually. I would prefer a plugin! Grrrrr.
