Going to sleep all hopped-up on Vicodin is interesting not because of the depth of dreams it gives me, rather, that it masks them as memories. I now have memories of activities which never took place, and people I never knew.

The best part of my day? Uninstalling the Opera web browser and replacing it with Safari Beta 3. Much better. Thanks for the tip, [livejournal.com profile] drax0r

For example, I run two different logins on the same forum - rather than logout & back on as each character, I simply run a second browser. Other times, when I am authoring web pages, I like to view the output in a variety of browsers. Pictures, different types of files, etc - all show up differently in different browsers. Also, I don't running Macromedia Flash on Firefox. So if I come across a site which requires flash, I fire up a second browser, do my business, and close it. BAM!

Any of that sound like you?

Things that appeal to me about Safari

- Speed - I look at lots & lots of images
- RSS feeds - I want to utilize this feature
- Auto forms - Holiday online shopping is comming
- Its Apple, I need to get used to Apple interface
so I will be comfy when I purchase & move into my iMac

Don't misunderstand me - I run Firefox on my Mac, and you can too! It's the second browser we're talking about.

Inline spell-checking is the most awesome invention since...I dunno, the Internet! That's one thing neither Safari nor Opera have, but greatly need.

Once it has been experienced, it is a mystery why all others do not do it as a standard...

Critics said the same thing about the scroll wheel on a mouse. "Sure its a nice feature, but who'll ever really use it?"

Now, its hard to use a mouse without one.

That's not true. Opera has an inline in spellchecker, but it depends on Aspell. The reasonsing here is that they don't want to have to port a spell checker, so they use one that's already available.

Speed- Opera has the most efficient caching system on the planet. In fact, that was its claim to fame.

Furthermore, if you're downloading a file, while you're piddling around finding a place to put it, the transfer is occurring in the background.

RSS feeds- Opera has had a built in newsreader since at least version five. That was seven years ago. RSS was added upon standard implementation.

Auto forms- Wand can fill out forms for you as well. The added bonus is that as a password manager, you can save a list of passwords for a specific site that sit encrypted on your hard drive and choose which un/pw combo you want to use by pressing Ctrl + Enter.

Just thought I'd mention it.

It just dawned on me what browser you would really like. I shit you not. It's 10x faster than Opera, and I use it daily. elinks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elinks).

Go chew on that.

I actually kinda like that browser from what I see.

'Tis truly an amazing thing. AND...its cross-platform like nothing you've ever seen before. Its predecessor, Lynks is the only known browser to be platform independent. e.g., It will run on anything.
