Every day, the pain in my back is worse than the day before. I took two days off work and stayed prone. My boss sent me an email telling me I can work from home if I need to. I worked from home Wednesday, but connectivity was spotty at best Thursday, so I went into the office. What a bad idea that was! [livejournal.com profile] drax0r picked me up on his way in - even wheeled me to the bathroom in my chair. I got everything done I needed to do, and was busy from the moment I got there until I left. I'm quite certain I wouldn't have been able to do all that from the house. Today, I'm screaming along with connectivity, so was able to work from home again.

Its a tricky balancing act with my meds. I was prescribed only 30 Vicodin, and they work GREAT if I take two at a time, twice a day. But The doctor told me to expect to be healed in about two weeks. That's a long time when you're dropping four Vicodin (5/500's) a day. So I'm trying to survive on one twice a day. Not easy.

I put on my CD of Twin Peaks which is woefully short, and that lead me into Floating into the Night, an album I listened to a lot of in the early 90s. Julee Cruise sings Angelo Badalamenti and David Lynch songs - its like an hour long extension of Twin Peaks. Groovy stuff.

My wife went shopping with [livejournal.com profile] jesskd26 today, and with the kids in school, this marks my first time alone in the new house. I've been listening to great scores all day long. Her only stipulation was that I let the dogs out for 20 minutes every couple of hours.

Fine, here's some pictures of the dogs:

Naming convention: The assumption is that the pug was mistreated and used only to breed. That being said, I call her, "Tits McGee" much to the consternation of my wife. My daughter wanted to name the female "Star" so I started calling her "Starscream" (from Transformers) because my boy thinks its cool. My wife wanted to name the pup "Frodo" but son insists on "Anakin." In the interim, my wife calls the Pug "Pendragon" and the puppy "Poop shoot."

I of course call them both, "Oy!" To date, neither have names.

And finally, for something different this weekend, I plan to lay prostrate for 48 hours. Wish me luck.

Poor "Tits McGee"!!!! The puppy isn't very puggish looking - what was the daddy?

I'd say if your back isn't any better by Monday to call that doctor back...if nothing else to get more drugs.

Take it easy!

Its a mystery. Based on the looks of the pup, they guessed German Shepherd, but uh...I don't see the physics of that union working in their favor.

And thanks for the suggestion! Maybe I'll see if I can finish up all the meds by Monday ;)

I thought the trick was naming small animals after big things. A friend of mine had a chinchilla named Zeus for example.

I think I'll call him..."Mini Me."

I was thinking something more like Dutch (Ah-nold from Predator)

I love the mama pug. She is very cute. But by god what the heck did she birth? That is the damnedest thing to have come from a pug momma! It looks like Scooby Doo's side kick, Scrappy Doo!

"Rut-Ro Raggy!"

This made me laugh out loud. My wife agrees with you. His abnormally large-ish head tends to give that impression.

All German Sheppard pups look like Scrappy!!!

Strangely Scappy speaks much better English than his uncle Scobby!!!

I'm really sorry to hear about your back. My only back pain horror story came about because I sat in one position for too long (like ten hours) playing diablo II. I was out in a similar fashion for about two weeks as well on painkillers. Backs suck.

The dogs are terribly cute :)

At least that was for a good cause. Diablo II was worth it. Hell man, I was doing yard work. How unglamorous.

That's what happens when you pull an IT geek away from the computer and make him do real work!!!

I hope your back starts feeling better.

I agree with Photogoot. I think the pup looks like a scrappy. Its a good name. I would use it.

That way when people ask you how your pup got your name you can cross thread and tell the story how someone off of your LJ named your dog.

Thanks! I made to work ok, but now I'm all hopped-up on Vicodin.

I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. I hope you get better soon. :)

And if I may say so, from a girl's standpoint, those are adorable dogs.

When my Mom died I inherited a tall 100 count bottle of Vicodin. She had just had the script refilled the day before she went into the hospital.
