I've read a handful of his stuff online, I read two biographies on him in the early 90s and mostly just enjoy his music.

Why is that funny? Its an American Indian album about American Indians trying to sound Native American. And it does! That's the only light I've ever seen it shed in. Its funny because you're right - it does have that "ninja" feel to it - and outside of the preconceptions I've described, it could be anything at all. Perhaps 'delightful' would have been a better word.

Several times I've picked up a book of his poetry but have never actually purchased it. Maybe next time I will.
