Trinity is dead.
Daisy is at the vet.
Niobe is healing.

"Animal Bites" the vet called them. Outside of Trinity, Az looks the worst. Poor Daisy's bites however, got infected. She was running a temperature today, she has an X-Ray scheduled for Wednesday, and during the bloodwork they found liver issues. I don't know what's going to happen next.

I am making an offer on the house in Pecan Grove at 0900.

I haven't had a wink of sleep.

I think there's too much on my mind.

This hasn't happened to me since I was in Saint Louis.

So I migrated my gallery over to the linux box. Imported the database then tar'd over the goods. Most of it is working.

That kept me busy.

For a while.

how many/what kind of animals do you have?
Date/Time: 2007-07-17 15:59 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com
Daisy (http://www.wilddamntexan.com/kids/daisy_retouched.jpg) is my Maine Coon.

Niobe (http://www.wilddamntexan.com/kids/060913_niobe.jpg) is my Bengal.

Trinity (http://www.wilddamntexan.com/kids/060913_trinity.jpg) was my other Bengal.

I'm so sorry to hear about them. I have 3 cats and know how close I am to them.

They are all so beautiful.

Thanks. Daisy is my favorite. We've had her nearly 10 years now. And though I'll likely never own another Bengal (they're so damn vocal), their coat is as soft as a pelt. They really are amazing cats.

It sometimes seems that way.

God almighty, what happened? You let them out for the night? I am so goddamned sorry - sometimes the passing of a pet is harder than that of a human family member.

There have been a couple of pit bulls roaming the neighborhood. They were picked up once, then inexplicably released again.

We've kept the cats in the house a week now - waiting for their wounds to heal, but Daisy was the worst off. I just hope whatever her liver problem is is connected to the bite and can be healed with medication. I'd hate to have to put her down.

Thanks dude.

Awww, I'm so sorry. :(

Thank you. If worse comes to work, I don't think I'll be able to do it. My wife will have to go. I don't know if I could stand that either. This sucks.

Why don't the cops do anything? I'm sure you filed a report but if they're not doing anything, they're obviously a risk toward public safety.

As I understand it, the cops did pick them up. How they got back out on the street is anyone's guess.

Perhaps they were delivered back to their owners and they let them loose again?

People who don't care for their pets piss me off.

If the animals were released to their owners and they were the ones that did this, then the police have it within their power to have the animals destroyed.

Wow! Texas is not good for you kitty kats. I hope Daisy's okay. What kind of liver problems is she having - failure? Sorry to hear about Trinity too - poor baby!

Hopefully your mind will slow down once things start falling in place with the house, the cats, etc.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Thank you! I know, poor Trinity. I wrote of this last week - but was hopeful. Then my wife all but confirmed the carcass (she had the kids with her so she couldn't be 100%).

My mind is going 1000mph. New car one day, new house the next - everything just keeps adding up.

I need a breather.

That was the plan! Until we found out we're to close on our house in Saint Louis from Texas...

Thank you ma'am. I am incredibly stressed. Someday soon, I hope, I won't be.

Sorry Eric... I guess I'm really out of the loop but I think you're talking about your kitty cats right??

What happened to them that they are so... not healthy at the moment?
Date/Time: 2007-07-18 07:08 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com
They were attacked by another animal, presumably a pit bull.
Date/Time: 2007-07-18 17:12 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapper521.livejournal.com
ALL of them!? What on earth... that must have been on angry pit to take on multiple cats...

I'm sorry to hear about their unnecessary injuries. :-(

Stressed: Just remember; God won't give you more then he knows you can handle my friend. :-)

Prayers are being sent your way. :-)

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this :(

Caligula and Simcoe send love to Daisy and Niobe, poor Trinity is in our thoughts.

Thank you ma'am. I'm on pins & needles with Daisy. We'll know more when the bloodwork comes back prior to her surgery tomorrow.

My wife's having to feed her with a spoon. I hate to see that.
