So I just bought my Philips DVP642, which will play every existing codec from any movie I download from the internet and burn to CD. That's sweet. It even has a UI for firmware upgrades, and a forum of peeps who write firmware to remove Macrovision, change regions, etc. I'm back to trying to install gentoo on the SB150 at work, though I'm sure something will prevent me from completing this task today. I also can't wait to get our OC-3 so I can listen to Shoutcast at something above 192/kbps bitrate! I believe that rules should apply across the board to eveveryone....except IT. That being said, I'm thinking of running fibre to my desk.
