When one is unaccustomed to being delighted in
Or appreciated for everything which makes them unique
For being seen, invited; welcomed...wanted
Were letting go of things which aren't working so easy; less conflicted
It should be easier to distance oneself from that which comes off as indifference
Yet the pull of the familiar coupled with the optimism of longing are powerful and comforting emotions
Were it so easy
And yet...
