Great post! I would like to make various comments.

Watched The Da Vinci Code this weekend…
I know you're a late adopter, but damn! I go to the theater because the experience will never be the same for me. What I mean by that is at this point in my life, I do not have the money for neither house nor in-home theater. The screen is so big and the sound is so perfect…I hate being young.

…found it a solid adaptation of the book.
I was discussing this with a buddy of mine. Now granted, I haven't read the book, but he was saying that it wasn't as faithful in that in the book, Langdon was all gung-ho for the theory to be true. Any thoughts on this?

As has been the case with the last several Zimmer scores I've heard, this one was much better with the film than a standalone score.
While you think that Zimmer is milquetoast for whatever reason (I think you say this because his scores are ubiquitous) at least we agree that he delivers for the movie at hand. Right off the top of my head, I can't recall a movie he scored where his work didn't flow with the movie.

You should check out the Matchstick Men score. It is great both as a standalone and fit the movie rather well. Granted, the score is out of order (and it is better when re-orderd) but it is a delight and worked well with the OCD motif. I'm listening to it right now.

I think I miss vinyl.

I saw Ron Howard's signature right off the bat…
Would you elaborate on this comment?

but then had to wonder why James Horner didn't score this one?
I think we were all scratching our heads over that one.

Then we watched BSG. How do they continue to crank out such fantastic episodes?
You know I hate the sci-fi genre. But I wonder, would you go so far as to say that BSG is the new Star Trek?

…drove there today and much to my dismay found that I had made my u-turn last week about 200 feet from the shopping center it was in.
I do this all the time when I am trying to find a new place. Thankfully, I've lived in the area long enough that I know where everything is.

Still, I now have photographic proof:
I see you grew your beard back. I take it that the wife is much, much happier now?

Daddy's always the monster.
Better to learn this lesson early in life.

I had a flat…
Life sux!

Once could say it cost me $135 to learn that my wife likes Lisa Gerrard.
I am familiar with Gerrad's work with Zimmer on the various Scott brother's films. Could you provide me with a sample of her work?

I'm sorry that it took such desperate lengths to learn a like of your wife. But then again, that's why we call this thing life. If you hadn't got that flat tire…

Once…
One…

…five toughest questions…And in all honesty, I never found the first question difficult.
I never did either. Dad always asked us that one. Here's my thoughts:

1. Enumerate everything on my mind.
2. If I didn't love the woman, she wouldn't be living in my house.
3. This question has only one answer: NO!
4. This question has only one answer: NO!
5. What do you care? You'd be dead.

Cooking…
I need to learn not just how to cook, but how to do so in a manner that is visually pleasing too.
