Had the opportunity to meet Oliver McCloskey, a gentleman who last year rode the Oregon Trail, and this year picked up where he left off to ride the Santa Fe Trail. As the famed trail passes through Ellinwood, he stopped here for a night, but I didn't get a chance to catch up to him until he reached historic Pawnee Rock, where we had an opportunity to take some photos against its gorgeous backdrop before resting up for his next morning's ride into Fort Larned. Along with the visit came tales of his adventures as he makes his way across this great nation, following the footsteps of the settlers before him.
