I don't usually put up a tree. My son does, but only after my daughter requests it from him. Its sweet. But after "borrowing" someone else's tree for my own malevolent purposes, I thought I could take some fantastic Christmas portraits of the kids with the Trioplan and its "bubble bokeh" for gifts this year.

So I bought a couple of things I've never before in my life purchased. A strand of tinsel garland (or garland tinsel, I really don't know which). Ornaments. Ornament hangers (thankfully the lady in the Christmas department was very helpful in assisting me with newbie questions like, "green or silver hangers" and "long or short stem." (Green long for the record). I also bought a tree skirt and a lengthy strand of white LED lights (the tree has colored ones pre-dispersed throughout).

Then I took f/22 (or in some cases f/16 on lenses that didn't have f/22) 30-second exposures of it with all my 50mm lenses on the tripod to watch the magic happen. They were all unique, but the Canon EF 50mm f1.8 STM won out for sharing.
