Sigma Mini-Wide II 28mm f/2.8

The "SL" in my Rebel SL1 stands for, "super lightweight" and it certainly is that. Even the 18-55mm zoom lens is like catching a trick of light in my hand. The SL1 is six full ounces lighter than my Canon G1X point & shoot. I'm fascinated at how tiny and light that DSLR is every time I pick it up.

You know what's NOT light? The legacy Sigma Mini-Wide II 2.8mm f/2.8 manual focus lens. Since none of my Minolta lenses can be adapted to my new DSLR I picked up this DENSE METAL AND GLASS lens at Moler's Camera in Wichita for $30. Utilizing a $5 metal Pentax K to EOS mounting adapter, the lens fits remarkably well and is able to focus to infinity. But its heavy as shit on my camera.

Regardless, I like its feel. Its solid, and smooth. It focuses nicely. My 40mm EF and 24mm EF-S lenses are almost non-existent comparatively. Its a good feel in one's mitts, and a great lens. I can't wait to play with it under different lighting and using its range of aperture.
