Caught in the Middle

My son brought home a field-trip release form for me to sign. The next day he reminded me that he was required to bring $1.00 to school to participate. I replied, "One dollar? Really?" (alluding to the fact that I almost never carry cash money).

So I wrote his teacher a check. For $1.00.

When he arrived at school and gave the check to his teacher, the teacher said, "A check for one dollar? Really?"
