Its in our primitive nature to not stand apart from the safety of the pack. When one discusses their individuality, its meant insofar as that pack is concerned. That's why I have such a problem with non-conformists; they're all the same. What began as a fun idea for a cheap thrill (all the while thinking I was quite the visionary for my insight) ended up turning into a study of social behavior. It humored me more that the boob shots were slow in coming, and the questions I received surrounding them, and by whom.
As this was an entirely anonymous presentation, I'll keep it that way here as well. Those who wish to out themselves in the comments are certainly welcome to do so. I used to say that getting our mean old cat Mleko to purr was like bringing a woman to orgasm - you really had to work at it sometimes. They didn't come quickly, nor without some hesitation and false starts, but the floodgates did eventually open. And so it was with my post.
The first commenter on the Thinking About Boobs entry was a male who, noticing the screened nature of the post, found its very existence distracting. He reasoned that had it been on a 'female only' filter, he wouldn't have known about it, and not sat twisting his hands wondering what was going on behind closed doors. He was also the first of many to consider creating a boob post in his own image, based on the ultimate success of mine. A meme of sorts:
Meme! (ganked fromehowton) "Show me your boobs!"
What surprised me the most was the number of female responders. Most of them wanted to know, "Is it working? Are people putting up pics of their boobs?" Unfortunately, none of those comments came with any pictures, thus we were stuck in a cycle devoid of boobage. No one wanted to be the first. Slowly, the pretenses began to fall. It wasn't modesty keeping these women away as I had first perplexedly assumed. I think it was the security, but not what you think. To answer my first poster's question, there was no way I could allow anonymous posting and add it to a filter, so its public, but screened. And of all my readers, only two males commented at all - most of my readers are too polite to stoop to some of the theatrics I pull. So be it. I respect them all.
No, by security, I mean...most of the women didn't post anonymously and they want to check out each other!
So perhaps I'll put together an open forum f-locked post. Showcase these lovely beauties instead of squirreling them away for my own amusement. I think my next one will be themed, "Show me what you put in your body."
And while I'd prefer you show me yours in action, here's a G-rated one of me with mine:
