I've been all over the world today. Or at least attempted to. Canada, Serbia, South Africa. All to no avail. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
Finally - I made it into Russia. Alas, "FTP returned error: Too many connections." I run roughly three installations of ubuntu. None of them could even run their package updates today (which I would've gladly forgone were I able to *actually* download a copy of 8.04.)
The main sites are down, the worldwide mirrors are down, and the update sites are overloaded.
Popularity is a double-edged sword.
The salt in the wound? My company has blocked all torrent sites.
*sigh*
Also - having some time in between reboots yesterday, we were going to attempt a load of ubuntu server on a DL360 we couldn't get Solaris x86 on when low and behold we discovered - someone installed Windows 2000 on it!?!?!
If I were a violent man...
