She couldn't quite remember the first time she completely stopped giving a shit about anyone else's opinion of her life, but the resultant freedom she experienced was damn near otherworldly - quite different from her more reserved upbringing where she struggled with constantly having to juggle everyone's unstated and conflicting expectations, fragile egos, and societal norms which seemed to always run counterproductive to logic - it was exhausting. How come no one else ever wondered whether or not we should question these things, instead just following them blindly? Perhaps they did wonder, and just never spoke of it? She thought back to her many interactions with friends, family, and lovers and decided there was zero evidence anyone had a thought past their own perspective which they liberally applied to their judgement of others - oftentimes being guilty of the same behavior in which they were publicly decrying. She didn't understand that part either.
