New Toy

Just got a new toy in the office, the Sony Vaio UX280P. What a sweet piece of work!

It's a full version of Windows XP (which is far less gay than say, Media Center or PocketPC) in a widescreen format with built-in wireless/bluetooth/USB, full docking station & portable port replicator. This little puppy has a full gigabyte of RAM and a 1.2GHz Intel Core Solo chip. This little thing is with a quickness! Of course the first thing I did was install Firefox.

And now, for something completely different, and taking a page out of the book of [livejournal.com profile] irulan_amy, I am on Second Life as London Packbiers. Yes, they have a Mac client.

May the quickness be with you, always!!!!!!!!!

Interesting device. I trust it is a lot refined from the previous version, it did not get very good reviews. It looks like an excellent concept if it lives up to the actual use. From what I have read though, they are rather expensive, as much as a full laptop?
in any case, spirits bless,
Marion

I'll take the laptop and leave the handheld thing-a-ma-bob thanks. :-)

Laptops are not as expensive and I actually have a faint idea of how to run it... whereas with this thing I wouldnt have the faintest clue! :-P

Dude, that makes me jealous in the pants. I've longed for one of those micro-vaios for quite some time. Enjoy!

Why does all the excitement happen when I'm gone?
Just what we need...another device the user's won't have a clue how to use.
They'll want one though cause it looks cool!

Do I sound cynical?

Damn! That's awesome!
