You are assuming incorrectly (again) that I am an uneducated, NASCAR-loving member of society, who spouts things from his mouth without fully grasping, nay, understanding what actually is being said.

To address your first statement. I challenge you to show me where Lincoln WASNT as righteous a man as a flawed individual could be. If you can get beyond the 'penny' story and see beyond the log cabin, you will find a man of extreme moral character as well as culturally astute. I dare you to find me anyone during that time period who sacrificed more in the name of unity and forgiveness.

To address your second comment. Anyone who has read anything beyond the public school system's commentary on the civil war knows that there were slavery supporters in the North, and just like there are today, people openly called for the impeachment of the president, and attacked the president's handling of the war and the southern states. Members of his own party didnt want him around because his actions didnt fill their pockets with money or bring (un-warranted) prestige to their name. Many of the rally'ing cries of the people opposing the war were of the mindset that 'if they (southern states) wanted to succede, then let them.' Tell me that the United States isnt better with the southern states and their revenue streams and culture mixed in with the 'north', and I will personally drive in a southern direction to your location and kick your backside all the way to Cuba where your communist manifesto belongs....ill bring the wetsuit and snorkel!

Thirdly, I am an avid student and quite well-versed in the period known as the 'Civil War', and challenge your challenge that I am nothing if but ignorant of our nations history and foibles.

Your only correct assumption would be that I neither understand or support a southern'ers stand when it comes to states rights, or the blatant hiding of a morally irreprehensible thing such as slavery behind such 'rights'.

I welcome your challenge.
