But don't ever take sides with anyone against the Family again. Ever.

Ground up an 1/8 cup of pumpkin seeds and dumped that into a frying pan which in which I was sautéeing half a very thinly sliced yellow onion. Sprinkled the entire mixture with red curry & chili power and added a handful of fresh sprouts. Once that mixture was tender I whipped it up in some eggs for breakfast. C'est Manifique!

Watched The Soprans Season 4 in two sittings at my in-laws while we were away. Yesterday, being our first Friday night back, and with no BSG to keep us occupied, we rented Disc 1 of The Sopranos Season 5 with [livejournal.com profile] galinda822 who had come over for a gift exchange with the children. My wife had created a gorgeous herb salad with a side of jasmine rice she cooked with organic coconut and graded orange peel. We washed dinner down with a bottle of Kansan Spätlese.

I took the kids to Borders where they each picked out two books from the gift cards galinda gave them (in addition to Polly Pocket & Power Rangers toys - can you say 'spoiled?') then on to galinda's to hook up the surround sound system she rec'd for Xmas. I got all the cabling laid out, thread everything through and built speaker stands. Plugged everything in only to discover her Dish is using the coax as its default output in place of the component connections, and I couldn't figure out how to force the DVR to swap outputs, so I've left that project for the weekend after [livejournal.com profile] photogoot is here.

Came home and finally watched Disc 1 of The Godfather DVD Collection. It was good. Better than I remembered. Can't wait to get to the third one, though. I have that one on laserdisc, but this will be the first time I've seen it on DVD.

Its much too late for me to still be awake.

Thanks for everything this weekend!

Friday night was fantastic...the food, the Spatlese, The Sopranos and watching the kids open their gifts (spoiling is an Aunts job!)
Can't wait for us to try out the surround system - start thinking of the perfect movie to test it!!!

The Fifth Element would be an EXCELLENT choice to test the surround system.

Starship Troopers would also be EXCELLENT but the bugs make Eric scared.

Platoon would also be a good choice.

Oh, how was the soup Friday night? Eric would not tell me.

Did you read his post?

You had mentioned on a previous post that y'all were having soup last Friday so thats why I was asking. So y'all had salad instead.

no. [livejournal.com profile] celtmanx's sole purpose in life is to get more comments then I on the next stat round. So, of course he doesn't read. He just comes in here spouting his Commie-bastard Nazi bullshit.

'nuff said.

I do own The Fifth Element so I'll add that to the list of possibilities.

Jurassic Park is also a good choice to test a surround system. Back in college, a friend of mine hooked up 8 speakers to his system. You could actually feel the room shake as the dinosaurs went from one side of the room to the other (or from one side of the screen to the other).

Re: Thanks for everything this weekend!

[identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
I'm with C on this one. Jurassic Park is the de facto presentation. Back when [livejournal.com profile] photogoot and I built the Tower Of Power, I invited a bunch of people over for the release of the CAV laserdisc. It was fantastic.

There has never been in in home movie experience better, before or since!

Aye, I agree with you, 'tis far to late for you to be up.

Hmm... why does it seem that your headings rarely have anything to do with your post's??

OLD men need their sleep!!!

Haha!! :-D Dang straight.

[identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Au contraire! That was the line Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) says to his brother Fredo Corleone in Vegas ;)

Even? You're a student of film - you would be expected to know that.

still, despite what some people think, I am mamal...yannow the type: those things that drink water and breath air.

[identity profile] schpydurx.livejournal.com 2007-01-12 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
what's your point?

[identity profile] schpydurx.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I couldn't figure out how to force the DVR to swap outputs...
I hate it when you can't get shit to work.

so I've left that project for the weekend after [livejournal.com profile] photogoot is here.
Did you ever think that he could put his mad Program Manager skillz to work and re-program that fat bastard?

Godfather...
Read Me

[identity profile] celtmanx.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] photogoot is not that type of Program Manager, MORON!!!!

[identity profile] schpydurx.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
LOL

[identity profile] schpydurx.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
LOL. Read 'em and weep.

[identity profile] schpydurx.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
It was meant to be funny.

My "mad skillz”, with a z even? You sir are a hipster dufus. But aside from that any contribution I may make to the surround system configuration problem would be made from my considerable experience co-engineering the “Tower Of Power” with Mr. H. However I am confident the problem will be quickly resolved by my resourceful friend without my aid, so that we may all enjoy each others company in person in the short 3 days I will be on the ground in St Louis. Besides the most important item you ignore with your comment is that I do not know Galinda882 well enough to spend time on my back in her living room!

[identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
You never actually commented on the oft-quoted Program Management Thread (http://ehowton.livejournal.com/98757.html) AKA - "What does [livejournal.com profile] photogoot do for a living" post. Like Trying to Explain the Theory of Relativity to a Talking Donkey. as this was during the 'troubles' but he was making a direct reference to that. To date, the issue is still unresolved.

[identity profile] photogoot.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
I am being a sarcastic smart ass tonight, thats all. At the root of my comment was the desire to use my “Cigar Bastard” avatar, I do so love it. It's my favorite photo of me lately. I surely don’t have the energy to explain my work tonight and I would half like to remain the enigma that is photogoot. And what if you are in fact correct and I do nothing more that express my employment with a talking donkey. Yea, you're probably right… Why fight it… ;-)

[identity profile] ehowton.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
You've come to the right place.

[identity profile] schpydurx.livejournal.com 2007-01-12 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
I want you to die.

[identity profile] schpydurx.livejournal.com 2007-01-12 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
t the root of my comment was the desire to use my “Cigar Bastard” avatar, I do so love it.
I love your avatar too.

I surely don’t have the energy to explain my work tonight
There is no need to explain your work. I understand it imensly.

I would half like to remain the enigma that is photogoot.
I want to get to know the Man and the Legend.

And what if you are in fact correct and I do nothing more that express my employment with a talking donkey.
Only when describing your duties to [livejournal.com profile] celtmanx

Yea, you're probably right… Why fight it… ;-)
Ibid.

[identity profile] schpydurx.livejournal.com 2007-01-12 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
You sir are a hipster dufus.
I'll take that as a compliment.

...my considerable experience co-engineering the “Tower Of Power” with Mr. H.
Someone will have to tell me that story sometime.

...will be quickly resolved...without my aid...
I am sad to hear that your expirences as a Program Manager will not be useful nor employed on this task. I shall shed a single tear for you.

I do not know Galinda882 well enough to spend time on my back in her living room!
Apparently, Howton does and if I understand the story correctly, did so on his first evening in STL.

That salad sounds lovely!

You've reminded me that I need to rent season 2 of the Sopranos.

Oil & balsamic. She wouldn't let me drench it in bleu cheese :(
