Read Angels & Demons first. Its a far better book, and the first in the series. If I can make a suggestion you won't want to miss, they make an illustrated version which I wish I could have read when I went through the book. As it was I got a book on 'Rome' afterwards.

...especially since I won't be at work.
I fail to see the connection between the two.
