While I prefer Ubuntu for a whole host of reasons, because we're migrating from HP/UX to SLES I've been running openSUSE here at the house for the last 4 years. Sadly (at least until Steam follows through on their promise to bring gaming to linux) M$ is the de-facto standard for gaming platforms <-- the primary reason my kids use theirs.

Although I did hear a rather promising preview of Windows 10 which, in the style of OSX, makes old hardware run faster. Which is damned impressive given their history.
