The Writer carried an article entitled Ten rules for success & happiness writing fiction by Elmore Leonard. Under the heading Never use a verb other then "said" to carry dialogue, he said

I once noticed Mary McCarthy ending a line with "she asseverated." and had to stop reading to get the dictionary.

Most Kind and Gracious Madam, you have done what others have only dreamt of: showing me something I don't know. Major props to you.

Yes, you made your Diplomacy check and I thank you for the open and honest response. It will likely be the only such that I receive.
